Eric Brook
Eric is one of our youngest athletes
At 13 years of age he has already tackled some of the hardest trails in the UK and is a regular at our Wed evening, and Saturday morning sessions at Ashton Court
He is a bright prospect for the future and we hope that he continues to enjoy his riding as well as making the improvements he needs to fulfil his dreams of racing Cross Country Mountainbikes
Eric came to us earlier this year, and has worked hard on all the skills we have shown him, working especially hard on his climbing style and his endurance
A shining example of exactly what can be achieved by anyone as long as they have the desire and motivation (and Excellent coaches!) to do so
This is what Erics Mum had to say about him, the coaching he receives and his ambitions for world Cross Country domination!….
‘He attended his first session with you in the Easter Holidays (second session you held) after his PE teacher, who knew he was a keen mountain biker, gave him your flyer.
Eric has enjoyed mountain biking for the last couple of years and especially in the last 8 months since he got his new bike.
He cycles regularly with his father and together this year they have cycled Afan, Cwm Carn, Coed y Brenin (both the blacks) and last week cycled the XC Fort William trails.
He was the youngest entrant in June’s Bristol Bike fest.
Eric has become passionate about his Wednesday evening cycle rides with you.
His confidence and technique have both improved considerably since cycling with you, and he is keen to get involved in racing at some stage.
His aims are to compete in amateur level racing and to increase his speed and especially his climbing technique. He says he enjoys riding for the exhilaration, challenge, satisfaction and improved level of fitness.’
So keep your eye out for Eric in the next few years!
Anyone else who is interested in learning or improving their biking skills , please feel free to get in touch, or come along to one of our sessions.
