Weekly MTB sessions

We run sessions in schools across Bristol and North Somerset and every week we run a mountainbike session for young people from the ages of 9-19 which allows riders who have enjoyed themselves in school to come along and improve their riding.

These sessions take place every Saturday morning at Ashton Court and are coached by fully qualified and insured instructors.

We have been running these sessions for over 2 years now and they are extremely well attended and popular, with many riders still riding with us from the very first session. We have new riders joining us all the time and you will always be made to feel welcome by all riders and instructors.

For those who do not have their own bike and helmet we are able to bring one along for you to help get you started, if you have your own bike we are happy to check it over for you on your first session to make sure it is ready to ride.

Please bring a drink with you on the session and a spare inner tube if you can.

These sessions cost £5 each and start at 10am, they last for 2 hours, starting and finishing at the car park at the Manor House.

FAQ.

I have never ridden with you before in school, does that matter?

If we have never visited your school that’s fine, come along and ride with us at these sessions anyway, then let your school know how much fun you had so we can come along there next term too!

Will I be good enough?

As long as you can ride a bike and are keen you will be fine. We always ride at the pace of the slowest rider and have frequent breaks. We stop and talk about skills needed for the next part of the ride and we never do anything which anyone is uncomfortable doing.

What if I can’t ride a bike at all?

We are happy to help you learn, as well as our many school sessions we also run one to one sessions for those who need a bit more help. We can do this at your house, school etc or you can come to us at a venue of your choice. Get in touch via the numbers above if you want to talk some more about these sessions.

I am an adult looking to get into MTB, is there a session I can attend?

You would be more than welcome to attend one of these Sat morning sessions, we have many adults who come along and ride with us from time to time…most of us are put to shame by the younger riders, but the relaxed rides are perfect for those looking to gain more skills and confidence before hitting the trails alone.

I have a group who would like to come, is that Ok?

We are happy for you to bring along your family, scout group, football club or any other group you would like, all we ask is that you join in with the session and make friends with the regular riders. If you would like us to take your group out on a ride alone then we would be happy to do that, we have helped many schools have an away day, and many scout groups achieve their skills badge by riding for a morning.

Do you run any other sessions?

We run sessions all the time. We run regular school holiday programmes at places around Bristol and indeed the country, we often take trips to places of interest such as MTB venues, BMX tracks, and we also recently took a group to the Track Cycling in Manchester to see Sir Chris Hoy do his thing! Every holidays we have a programme of events so see our website for more details www.sole-events.co.uk
