Coed Y Brenin Duathlon

Marc and Kit went off to the Coed Y Brenin Off Road Duathlon on Sun.

Fast becoming a regular end of season fixture, the boys were due to be joined by two new recruits who couldn’t make it at the last minute.

Treated as a fairly relaxed affair (curry and beers the night before!) the boys did well.

Kit was leading the race at around the halfway point before suffering a fatal double puncture and retiring shortly after.

Marc had better luck and managed to finish the race in 9th place despite being overtaken in the last half mile by 4 racers as extreme post curry fatigue had begun to set in!

The race distances were 5km run/20km off road bike ride/5km run

A great end of season blast, this is a race that we would recommend to anyone.

We have now been looking at running an off road duathlon ourselves as it is a format which is still pretty rare.
