GB World Champion
With all the success of the Olympic Games it is easy to forget that the sporting world is still going strong out there.
We watched with awe last weekend as GB athlete Chrissie Wellington won her second successive Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii.
It was only her second attempt at the race (she won it at her first attempt last year!) and she is one of only a handful of people who have retained their crown, at what must be one of the hardest single day events in the world.
We love the way that she always races with a smile on her face and we think she isĀ a great role model to anyone out there looking to get into triathlon, or sport in general.
With all the other GB achievements this year, we doubt she will get a look in at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, but if she makes it a hatrick next year, surely she would be hard to overlook, even in in a sport with such a low profile…
Well done Chrissie
